“CARTOGRAPHY AND SOCIO-CULTURAL RESEARCH”
The seminar organized by the Commission for Theoretical Cartography of the ICA,
the Centre for Cartography at Vilnius University and Lithuanian Cartographic
Society is an annual scientific event, designed for share of ideas and experience
in the field of cartographic semiology, communication and literacy. In 2005
the seminar was combined with the 10th anniversary of the Centre for Cartography.
The seminar took place in the old Vilnius University in the heart of a beautiful Eastern European capital. Two paper and poster sessions and a round table discussion took place as in previous years. There were 49 participants from 7 countries: Austria, Czech Republic, Germany, Lithuania, Poland, Russia and Ukraine.
